Tips to Remember When Spending a Day at Magic Kingdom Upon Reopening
The longest closure in Walt Disney World history has come to an end. In the course of reopening, the Parks have undergone a number of changes designed to help ensure the safety of both guests and Cast Members.

And some of these new measures might require you to take a different approach to your Park days.
With that in mind, here are our tips for spending a day in the newly reopened Magic Kingdom!
Don’t Overdo It
We know from experience that it’s tempting to try to squeeze as much as possible into your Disney World vacation. But it’s especially important to make sure that you’re giving yourself (and your family) plenty of time to make your way around the park.

You might find yourself getting winded a little more quickly while navigating the park in a mask, for example, so make an effort to slow down and stop for a break if needed. With most attractions experiencing considerably shorter wait times than pre-closure, there’s less need to hustle from place to place. Use that new Park reality as motivation to stop and smell the roses.

Prioritize Your Must-Dos Ahead of Time
With rides like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight, Haunted Mansion, and more, there are a lot of crowd-drawing attractions in Magic Kingdom, even with seriously reduce overall capacity. And since FastPass+ has been temporarily suspended, Park hours have been shortened, and your family might tire out more quickly than normal, it could be difficult to experience all of the most popular attractions in one day.

So, decide with your travel party ahead of time which rides and attractions are your must-dos, and head there first. That way, anything else you get to experience is icing on the cake!
Research Your Restaurant Options Ahead of Time
Not all of the restaurants in Disney World are reopening immediately. And that’s particularly apparent in Magic Kingdom, where several guest favorites like Cinderella’s Royal Table and Crystal Palace will NOT be reopening with the Park.

Before you head to the park, check out the full list of restaurants that Disney has listed as currently available to avoid any unpleasant surprises. And be sure to grab a Advance Dining Reservation for any Table Service restaurants you want to experience (walk-ins are not accepted at this time)!

Be On the Lookout For Surprise Character Interactions
Disney World has postponed fireworks, parades, and character meet-and-greets for the time being. But that doesn’t mean you can’t spot the characters in the Parks! In place of the regularly scheduled entertainment, there are new experiences offered, like smaller character cavalcades that occur randomly throughout the day.

Now, you definitely shouldn’t camp out to try to catch a cavalcade or spot a character — both for safety reasons and because they’re unscheduled experiences that will pop up randomly. But you should keep a sharp eye out for characters to appear in new and unexpected ways!

Make Your Breaks More Fun!
If you do find that you are taking more breaks than usual, there are plenty of places to do that without missing out on some serious fun! Several Magic Kingdom shows including the Enchanted Tiki Room, Carousel of Progress, and Mickey’s PhilharMagic have reopened with the Park.

These attractions all give you the opportunity to sit down for 10 to 20 minutes for a quick break. That way, you can cool off while enjoying some classic Disney entertainment! (But you still need to wear your mask — which is admittedly better in the AC!)
There are some new processes, challenges, and experiences you can expect to encounter if you visit Disney World in the near future. Hopefully our tips help you enjoy your next trip to Magic Kingdom!
